Cog Design Student Awards Scheme 2009
Congratulations to this years winners of the Cog Design student awards’ scheme.
This years brief was to create a challenging, interesting, exciting, awe inspiring, thought-provoking visual responses to the concept of ‘recognition’.
Create your visual response using a method that best suits your idea: paint, typeset, knit, sculpt, print, photograph, doodle, carve, crochet, engrave, stitch or draw. Capture your creation and send us your response.
We had impressive response to this years awards and we received more than 150 entries.
This years winners
- Thomas Rollett, Norwich University College of the Arts, will receive £1000 for "Recognise me"
- Sonia Yekinni, Kingston University, will receive £500 for "The simplest things"
- Jacqueline Sharples, East Lancashire Institute of Higher Education, will receive £500 for "The Bank of Recognition"
Each of the three winners will be considered for a three-week placement at Cog Design’s studio in Greenwich, South London.

All 16 successful entrants, including the winners have had their work published as postcards. The published A6 postcards were sent out as part of the 2009 activity pack for our annual celebration of kindness – Recognition Day which was on the 4th May.
