Cog Design Student Awards Scheme 2009

As the precursor to Recognition Day, we run the Cog Design Student Awards Scheme*. We invite all students enrolled on a design-related Further or Higher education course in UK to get involved.

We are looking for challenging, interesting, exciting, awe inspiring, thought-provoking visual responses to the concept of ‘recognition’

Create your visual response using a method that best suits your idea: paint, typeset, knit, sculpt, print, photograph, doodle, carve, crochet, engrave, stitch or draw. Capture your creation and send us your response.

We will choose sixteen of our favourite entries and publish them as A6 postcards. The postcards will be used as part of our annual celebration of kindness – Recognition Day.

Three financial awards are available to the students who best demonstrate a creative talent through an inspired response to the brief. Each of the three will also be considered for a three-week placement at Cog Design’s studio in Greenwich, South London.

Stages

1. Create your response to the brief
2. Send it to us, with a completed entry form, by post; or enter online
3. Entries close 17.00 on 2nd March 2009
4. Our panel of judges will consider the entries and choose the Award winners. Panel of judges to be announced.
5. Winners will be announced, online, by 27th March 2009
6. We’ll contact those who will be published to request hi-res artwork
7. Postcards will be published by 30th April; copies will be sent to entrants
8. Award winners will receive their cheques by 4th May 2009
