2007’s
Recognition Day

2007 was the inaugural Recognition Day. Our idea was to involve a few close friends, colleagues and clients and to gently promote the idea of kindness; we wanted to do something special. Working with the student winners of our Recognition Awards, we put together a great ‘starter pack’ of Recognition Day tools.

It quickly became clear that we’d hit on an idea that people felt passionate about. The idea grew very quickly and interest spread to the most unlikely places. We had calls and emails from across the UK (and a few from other countries) requesting packs and praising the concept.

In all we sent close to 800 packs out (including half a dozen, given out to callers to the BBC London hour devoted to our special day).

We met some lovely people, did a little bit of good and achieved our ambitions in a modest way. People were kind to each other and to us; we even received a few postcards back, saying thank you.

2008 promises to be even bigger and more exciting.
